Kanchenjunga

Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m), the third highest peak in the world and the second highest peak in Nepal. It is located in the extreme northeast corner of Nepal bordering Sikkim (an Indian State) to the east and China to the north. This is the most adventurous of all the routes offered. The valley approaching the mountain base camp has been opened to trekking, specifically for organized treks. The long trek to the lap of Kanchenjunga takes one through some of the country's richest and most pristine forests. Kanchenjunga is one of the most remote and beautiful areas in Nepal, which, unused to foreign visitors, still lies shrouded in mystery. The features of the walk in are pleasant villages then in the high regions, glorious mountains and abundant wildlife. This includes musk deer, blue sheep and, for the believer, the Yeti! Magnificent views of Everest, Makalu and the Kanchenjunga massif will make the trip memorable.

This trek beings at Tumlingtar or Taplejung accessible by air, or Basantapur accessible by road. Soaring peaks, the Yelling Glacier and a wide variety of natural vegetation and agricultural areas can be seen in this region.
